Privacy notice

Your answers to the questions on our website stay in your browser. We don’t save them, send them to our waitlist form, or record them in our analytics.

Our calculators work in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us. If you add dates to Google Calendar, Google’s privacy policy covers what you send it.

Our waitlist form collects:

• your email address
• your country
• how you’d like to hear from us
• which stages you’d like to hear about, and any optional answers you give
• which ad or link brought you to our site, if any

Google shares your name, email address, profile photo, and the ID it uses for your account. We use them only to create your account and sign you in. We never see your Google password or anything else in your Google account. Removing Tend the Sapling’s access in your Google account settings stops Google sharing anything new, but it doesn’t delete what we already have. To delete it, see Your choices and rights.

The stages you’re interested in can say something about your family plans, so we treat them with extra care. Those questions are optional. We use your answers only for the purposes below, and we never sell them or share them for advertising.

• to tell you when Tend the Sapling opens where you live
• to send you updates or invite you to test early versions, if you asked for them
• to understand what to build first and which of our ads reach the right people

We don’t sell your information, use it for advertising, or build profiles about you.

We use PostHog to see how people use our website: which pages they visit, where they click, how far they get through our questions and how long they take, whether they copy their task list or open our waitlist form, what kind of device they use, and where they found us. We set it up so that it:

• never records your intake answers
• uses no cookies, and deletes the ID it gives your visit when you close the tab
• keeps only your general region, not your IP address
• doesn’t record your screen

If you arrive from one of our ads, your browser notes which ad it was until you close the tab. There are no advertising pixels on our site. If you click a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta knows you clicked it, but we don’t send Meta anything about what you do on our site. We honour Global Privacy Control signals.

These service providers store your information and handle it only on our behalf:

• Tally, our form provider (Belgium)
• our private Google Sheet (Google, United States)
• PostHog, our analytics provider (United States)
• Supabase, our account provider (United States)

So your information may be stored outside the place where you live and be subject to the laws there.

We keep waitlist information until you ask us to delete it, or until 12 months after Tend the Sapling opens where you live if you haven’t joined by then, whichever comes first. We keep account information until you ask us to delete it, and analytics for up to 12 months.

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also ask to see, correct, get a copy of, or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing our privacy lead (see Contact). We’ll respond within 30 days. If we can’t do what you asked, reply to appeal and we’ll respond within 60 days. You can also contact the privacy regulator where you live.

Tend the Sapling is for adults 18 and over. If we learn we’ve collected information from a child, we’ll delete it.

If we make a meaningful change to this notice, we’ll update the date above and tell the people on our waitlist and everyone with an account.
